Something to start off...

Ok so this is my first blog - I've been putting it back for a while because I've been too busy (when I say busy I really mean lethargic)!

So April the 3rd is when I leave, take the 8:00am aeroflot flight from Heathrow and arrive in Moscow (which I will properly visit one day I promise) then from there to Narita the following day, exciting stuff!

I found out a few weeks ago now that I'm off to Kuji City in Iwate, here's what I know so far:

1. The city was founded on November 3, 1954.

2. Iwate is one of the most northern prefectures in Japan.

3. Googlemaps has informed me that it takes roughly six hours by train to get to Tokyo!

4. It has a population of 40,000 (close to Cwmbran).

5. When I typed Kuji into Wikipedia it stated that "Kuji is also the internet pseudonym of Welsh hacker Matthew Bevan." A sign obviously.

6. It's going to be cold in the winter.

This is only a little bit about the place of course but I might put more up here at a different time.

I'm looking forward to leaving now, but first off I should really start learning some Japanese and getting somebody to take my room once I leave - to tidying!
